#1 Spending more than you should

Spending more than you should is usually an indication you are emotional with your spending. Where this happens despite plans you have made you have a serious challenge. You need to exercise the best form of discipline – self-discipline!!!

Where on the other hand you spend in response to your perceived circumstances – you must establish your priorities.

#2 Staying in comfort zone

Staying in your comfort zone deprives you of opportunities to grow. Comfort is about maintenance of the familiar. You need challenges to discover and exercise your abilities. The Japanese grow miniature trees by keeping them in a small pot. That’s what you do to yourself when you stay in your comfort zone. You will live in regret later looking back over the years.

#3 Not looking after your health

Your body is your right to remain on this physical world. You are the person with the prime responsibility of looking after your health. Not looking after your health is abdicating your God given responsibility. Charity begins at home is a common saying. Looking after your health is the foundation for greater expression and production from you. Regret will set in when you realise you may have sacrificed your health inadvertently by your activities.

#4 Giving up too soon

Giving up too soon ensures you hardly reach self-realisation. You soon find this attitude feeding on itself. Your comfort zone may actually reduce. You may well find yourself staying in an ever reducing comfort zone. Don’t give up. Don’t give in!!!

#5 Not pursuing your dreams

Dreams motivate us. Dreams drive our creativity. Old men dream. Young men see visions. Visions are to be pursued. Dreams are to be passed on. When we pen down our dreams, we are more likely to have them achieved

#6 Not planning for next 10 years

It’s been said that not planning is actually planning to fail. We all have desires, expectations that develop with time and exposure. Planning gives direction. It gives clarity. Outline plans help us in the journey of focusing on our expected outcomes. Science has it that every 7 to 10 years all the cells in our body would have renewed. It makes sense to plan where you would be when every cell of your body has been replaced

#7 Not spending time with loved ones

Ultimately life is about people. It’s about relationships with the world of men. Time is the most precious gift you give or receive. When where you spend your time does not match what’s truly important to you regrets come. It has been said that there are two things that cannot be recovered once released – time and words. Not spending time with loved ones is ultimately self-deception as we see other activities that motivate us as being more important.
