Unreasonable People We Need In Our Lives To Push Us To Our Destiny
- Sometimes we meet unreasonable people in our lives. They are just plain…unreasonable…to put it in a polite Christian way. But when all is said and done, we need some of these people around now and again in our lives to push us into our destiny. So next time your boss is plain mean, just be thankful. Very thankful. They may well be doing you a massive favour. Find out why in this post today…
5 Unreasonable People who did not know they were indirectly raising heroes:
##1 Goliath
Everyone needs a Goliath. The giant was intimidating and fearful. Not only that, he taunted the Israelites day and night. When he took one step forward, they took a hundred baby steps back. But Goliath was very much needed. Without a Goliath, there was no David. No Goliath, no trophies. David certainly rose to the challenge and he got the reward…and fame.
We need the trouble makers, the mockers. They show us what we are made of. They help grow our faith.
##2 Nebuchadnezzar
You can’t get notable promotions without a Nebuchadnezzar. He audaciously told Daniel that he wanted Daniel to first tell him what the dream was. After that, he could reveal the interpretation. Is your boss asking you to do the impossible? Do you have an unreasonable leader? Don’t worry. They are in that position to promote you. Daniel used the wisdom of God to answer Nebuchadnezzar. What was the result? Daniel was promoted above all the satraps. No Nebuchadnezzar, no promotion.
##3 Potiphar’s wife
How about those who abuse their authority? Not only that they lie to crown it all? They are also the tempters. They try to lure you to do wrong. Then punish you or take you to court when they know the truth. They make wild accusations.
Don’t worry. You need Potiphar’s wife in your life. Joseph was too comfortable in Potiphar’s house. He was second in command after his master. Life was okay even though he was not fulfilling his destiny. A radical change had to happen in order to move Joseph to his God dreamed destiny. It took an unthinkable accusation to make that change! You need a Potiphar’s wife to stir up change and push you closer to your dreams.
##4 Pharaoh
These are the controversial leaders. The dictators of the land. They pass decrees and laws that make life uncomfortable and even sometimes immoral. Don’t despair. They have a role to play. God said He himself raised Pharaoh. Pharaoh’s dictatorship was a set up for God to display His power. Pharaoh’s hardened and wicked heart was necessary in order to demonstrate the power of God. You need a Pharaoh for the miraculous.
##5 Judas
No Judas, no Cross. We need a Judas in our lives. Judas are the betrayers. The back stabbers. They are smiling with you, they are close to you, but they are stealing something of value from you. They are secretly scheming with others. They can be easily bribed and have no sense of loyalty.
But rejoice you need a Judas. Don’t worry when they betray your confidence. Judas will push you to the will of God.
However don’t seek revenge…
Next time however when you come across unreasonable people, don’t think up revenge. Don’t wish them evil. Don’t wish they will just disappear out of your life. Hang on they may have a big role to play in making you who are to be.
The Fate of Unreasonable People
If you have a Goliath, their taunting is only short lived. Goliath(s) fall flat on their face!
As for Potiphar’s wife, you never hear of such people again after a while.
If you have a Pharaoh, they want to keep chasing you even when they change their mind to stop what they are doing. But their chasing somehow gets abruptly halted.
As for Judas, he will kill himself anyway. In other words, he will shoot himself in the foot.
However…
But we are called to pray for those who persecute us. Cause there is still hope for even those who are unreasonable as in the case of Nebuchadnezzar. He humbled himself and God restored him plus gave him more.
Happy endings are indeed possible all round!
