Cerebral palsy is a broad term used to describe a number of neurological conditions that are caused when the parts of the brain responsible for controlling muscles, posture and balance are damaged before, during, or after birth.
Though not one of the most common disorders, nearly 2 out of every 1000 children are born with cerebral palsy.
A huge 70% of cerebral palsy cases occur due to brain injury during the developmental stage of a fetus, while an additional 20% happen due to injury to the brain during birth.
