Decision Making
Decision making is what helps determine our destiny. When there is a decision to be made regarding your life, ensure you are the one to take them.
Planning is a brilliant aid to decision making. The Bible tells us to write down the vision and make it pain that anyone may run with it that sees it. Write down all that needs doing. Making priorities is an essential part of decision making.
The most effective way of prioritising is:
Priority #1 Urgent and Important issues
Priority #2 Not Urgent but important issues
Priority #3 Urgent but not important issues
Time like money has to be budgeted. We ascertain the difference between what must be done and what we would like to do. Jesus understood His mission, understood His limits and set His eyes on the future- the reconciling of man to God through His sacrifice.
It is good to keep a checklist for decision making to avoid creep in focus:
#1 Is this consistent with my priorities?
#2 Is this an area I am competent in?
#3 Can someone else be more effective at it?
#4 What Counsel have I received from my trusted friends?
#5 Do I have the time to do this?
