Make Defying Mental Illness Day count

In 2015, we have launched the Defying Mental Illness Day.  This annual event will occur on March 19 to coincide with the day Chuck was discharged indefinitely from the Mental Health system with NO MENTAL ILLNESS on his medical records after 18 years!    Our mission was birthed that day to reach others too and help them defy mental illness and its stigma.

When Mental Illness Strikes – Enough is Enough

Every year/every two years in October we host our flagship conference, When Mental Illness Strikes – Enough is Enough to coincide with World Mental Health day.    Our first conference was launched in 2014 and was a resounding success.  This day is to raise the profile of what we do, create awareness of mental illness and to help those challenged with mental illness along with their caregivers.

Defying Mental Illness give out the following OUTSTANDING awards during this conference in 4 categories:

  1. Professional Award – Award for those who have gone over and beyond in their line of duty as outstanding professionals in mental health/health system
  2. Courage Award – Award for those who have/are courageously defying mental illness and being an outstanding inspiration to others
  3. Orange Award – Award for those who have been outstanding as caregivers/carers to their loved ones and/or others in defying mental illness
  4. Campaigner Award – Award for those who have been outstanding in creating awareness of mental illness and in fighting stigma

Orange is our brand color.  It is a vibrant color that represents healing, courage, sacrifice and warmth.   Nominations are welcome.  Please email us on the Contact Page.
