How Caring Are You? – The Value of a Life

National Carers Week just ended. How caring are you? The answer to this question is made ever so more poignant by the events of the past month.

Minneapolis, Atlanta, New York, London, Brussels have seen life changing activity with an event that sparked off long pent up emotions about racial profiling and police brutality.

God lets us know the life of man is in the blood. That’s why many Jews, Muslims, and Christians do not eat meat with blood in it. There are many traditions that respect and celebrate life. It’s my belief that this is one such tradition.

The composition of the global marches on “Black Lives Matter” show that every race have a core of people who understand that every life is important to God and should be important to all human beings.

Law enforcement is not classed are a caring profession. Security is not a Carer’s profession either. Nevertheless, whatever the profession there’s always a duty of care. If we don’t care for the people we deal with day to day we really are not caring about what our creator wants.

We often hear there’s a spirit behind things. That’s really because all we see are not all there is. The Good Book advises us to pursue peace with everyone as well as holiness. Some words have lost their meaning to people for a multitude of reasons. For some, callousness has resulted from constant exposure to the worst spiritual environment in the world. For others, despising the words of those they have little regard for has brought this on.

Continue in brotherly love. Until we all see others as coming from the same creator, making allowances for differences we can not be truly caring. The easiest route in life is to be manipulative, self-seeking, and narrow minded.

The female white New Yorker in lockdown who was was on a viral video recently as she manipulatively called the police with a false report intended to play on racial profiling definitely was not caring. The murder of George Floyd was the final straw to light the tinderbox
