When you get hurt
Be grateful at times when people upset or hurt you. Their actions or words may just be the wake up call you need to come out of your comfort zone.
Test your resilience. It is not the end of the world.
It may be painful but there is one thing you should do. And that is to always turn a negative to work in your favour.
I remember 1000s of years ago when some bloke decided to tear my heart to pieces. Already tiny me was losing weight over the issue…(thankfully no pictures were taken of me during that rude awakening period).
I remember telling the said dude to make sure he never crossed my path again. I was brazen enough to warn him that if he should see me from afar it would be better if he ran for dear life literally…hell has no fury as a woman scorned!!! (Apparently, my memoirs may record I was so in loove with this bloke, so you got to feel my pain!).
Fast 1000 years forward…the dude did me the biggest favour.
Shortly afterwards, I gave my life to Christ, (‘kissed’ another ‘frog’ but my antenna was right up, or rather mum’s remote antenna was up to alert me that this was definitely not pprince charming).
Not too long, the real prince came along. Imagine my wasted tears and weight loss over that other dude.
Where would I have been today?I did not even like the guys surname! (Imagine stuck with a surname you hate and then to crown it all, he is Mr. Wrong guy).
Even though I was not born again, Gods hand was so much on me. God made sure my heart was ground to powder.
In other words, no pieces, not even a speck to pick up, let alone piece together. God himself shut the ark door of that relationship!
Today, I am pastoring, while wearing several other hats including happy wife and mum, author, writer, mental health advocate, etcetera, etcetera!
What a ‘worthless’ life I may have been living with Mr. So Wrong never knowing my left from my right, let alone my purpose.
When you have cried till your eyes cannot manufacture any more tears, THANK THE LORD!!!
When the flood pain subsides, open the window of the ark of your heart; as your soul heals, send out that dove not a raven.
Your dove will come with good news. The raven will be too busy eating dead meat from the flood. The raven won’t come back nor give you hope.
It is not the end of the world.
There is joy buried in every hurt.
This. Just wonderful. Worthy of reflection on our own Mr. So Wrongs.
Thank you Alison. Indeed 😊
Great uplifting piece. Thank you so much
